Systems & Infrastructure Specialist | mikecorder.co.uk since 2003
I am a seasoned systems specialist with a focus on robustness and data sovereignty. My technical journey spans the evolution of the modern web, from configuring Motorola Teleport modems in the 90s to managing a 15.1TB containerised array today.
I value systems that fail gracefully. My workstation setup utilises Btrfs snapshots and Timeshift for near-instant recovery, while my "Yoda" server is bridged via a hardened WireGuard VPS tunnel. This architecture ensures high availability and secure remote access without exposing my home infrastructure directly to the public web.
I maintain my own digital identity; my primary domain has been active for over two decades. This longevity is built on a foundation of clean DNS management, secure mail routing, and a preference for "boring" technology that stays online. I recently extended my domain registration through to 2035 to ensure absolute continuity.
Current lab environment includes Intel PCs (Fedora/Debian) and triple boot Intel Macs (Mac,Win,Lin). I am equally at home in a Linux terminal, a Windows PowerShell environment, or a legacy macOS system.
